2nd time here. Ordered yukgaejang. Flavors were spot on. Perfect. Ordered haemul pajun aka seafood pancake. It was loaded w calamari and shrimp. Came on a cast iron hot plate so it stayed warm and crispy. Friend ordered gamjatang aka pork bone and potato soup. It was her first time trying the dish. It was thick, savory, full of flavor and huge pieces of meat. She loved it. Portions are huge for the price u pay. We had leftovers on everything we ordered. Definitely coming back again.

We stopped by So Moon Nan Jib on a late afternoon, and the restaurant was still half-full. We wanted BBQ, so we were seated at a table with a grill. The place isn't the fanciest, but the food is why you come here (leave your jackets in your car of course). Unfortunately, there was only two of us, so we couldn't order one of the combos since they feed at least three. We ended up ordering two BBQ items so we could get the soup and steamed egg: Kalbi ribs: really good, definitely a must-order at KBBQ. BBQ chicken: I was surprised that I liked this dish: it had good flavor (chicken thighs). As I mentioned earlier, you get tofu soup (just ok), steamed egg (I really liked this dish), salad and 8 dishes of banchan. Overall, everything tasted really good. Too bad it is so far away from Issaquah for me. Next time, I am bringing some more friends so that we can try the combo meals.

I live very near by and it's extremely easy for me to come here for dinner. The thing I love the most here is the grilled mackerel. It's so yummy, so flavorful, I wish I could be eating it right now. I've also tried the seafood pancake that was great, perhaps it was the best seafood pancake I've ever had. The bibimbap and steamed dumplings were nothing special to my taste. I'm not a big meat eater so I haven't tried their BBQ but I have a feeling that it's good which is why I'm giving the place a benefit of a doubt on this in my rating. The place is dated and comes off as unclean. All in all, from what I've tasted here so far I concluded that if I didn't live in the area I would not come back here. The food is not that spectacular here to drive here from outside of Federal Way and I can always grill a mackerel at home just as well for 4 X less expensive.

After having lost all hope in Federal Way's selection of Korean food, I was passed onto So Moon Nan Jib by a friend and my faith has been restored. On my first visit, I ordered the pork soondubu and kalbi combination. The soondubu was good, but nothing to write home about. It wasn't as spicy as I had expected, but it may just be a personal preference. The kalbi was delicious: tender, juicy and bursting with flavor. During my second visit, I ordered the namul dolsot bibimbap which is one of my new go-to Korean dishes. Served in a stone pot, bibimbap is served as a bowl of rice topped with meat, fresh vegetables, a raw egg and soybean paste. My favorite part of the dolsot bibimbap was the crunchy rice on the bottom of the pot. Once mixed together with its other counterparts, it simply can't be beat. There's a wide assortment of authentic banchan, including sukju namul (soy sprouts), muk (acorn jelly) and jeon (pancake). They happily offer to refill any finished dishes, as well. I'm always impressed with the service here - they're attentive, friendly and helpful! My final rating will be made once I try the BBQ - the ultimate factor!

Definitely one of the best Korean BBQ place I've been. When we follow the driving instruction to this BBQ restaurant, we found us inside a plaza with all the store names in Korean. It took us a little while to find the right store, but we were all in good mood because this means the food must be authentic. And when we noticed we were the only people in the restaurant that not speaking Korean, we know it could not be more authentic than this. The complimentary appetizer was fantastic with about 10 small plates. All very delicious and great with BBQ meat. We have 4 adults and once child, so we ordered $69 combo (3-4 person), and an extra pork belly ($18). From our experience in some other Korean BBQ places, we need extra portion. It turned out that we were deadly wrong, the portion in this place is huge. At the end, we had lots of left over to pack and were all impressed by the generous portion. And the meat quality was very impressive, too. All were fresh, tender, came from good parts and well-seasoned. Our waitress helped us with the first load of beef, and the food was absolutely delicious. The meat was juicy with well balance flavors of sweet, salty and spicy. Definitely one of the best Korean BBQ I've ever had. The only minor complain I have, is that their spicy beef was way too hot for us. Usually we could handle spicy food pretty well, but that spicy beef was way out of beyond our range. Meanwhile, I noticed that it was not a problem for other customers, so maybe we were not that good at hot food. After stuffed with a delicious BBQ, I'm sure we will be here again.

I heard from a Korean friend who grew up in Federal Way that So Moon Nan Jib is her all-time favorite Korean restaurant. Although it seemed heavy to order for lunch, we decided to grill Korean barbeque to see how this place measured up against our favorite Korean restaurant in Lynnwood (suburb north of Seattle). Off the bat, let me say that So Moon Nan Jib is very spacious, clean and a nicely decorated space. The booths with grill tables are very large, giving our family of five plenty of room. The dining room was packed with almost all Korean people. Even though they were busy, the staff hustled to bring us water and menus. So, my husband and I like to order sseng kalbi (unmarinated short rib) whenever we grill Korean barbeque. This is because they have to serve you the freshest cut of beef, since there is no hiding poor quality or old meat behind a marinade. If you get a well marbleized piece of sseng kalbi, it will melt in your mouth. The sseng kalbi here was pretty good - HUGE serving, marbleized well enough and the quality seemed good. Was it better than what we can find in Lynnwood? Nah. We also ordered a non-spicy soft tofu stew for the kids to share, and they seemed to enjoy it fine. Dweng jang jigae and steamed egg in a stoneware pot were complimentary with our meal. We also ordered the homemade mandoo, which were good, but unnecessary to add to our large meal. We did see a lot of other tables ordering it, so I'm sure it's very popular. If you are in the Federal Way area, I would highly recommend coming here for a Korean meal.

When we walked into this restaurant we didn't expect much, but we were pleasantly surprised, the staff greeted us with kindness and smiles. After we were seated, they immediately brought tea and menus, as we ordered the waitresses assisted us with care and great explanation of the food. ( we are not familiar with Korean food), we love to try new restaurants everywhere we go. The food was brought to us very fast, the waitress asked if we needed anything else. We ordered the beef stone pot, and the tufu soup, both dishes were excellent. We will definitely go here again. The portions were outrageous ( a lot of food), we are completely stuffed. This is an amazing restaurant with great customer service.

It's more than just a Korean BBQ joint. There's specialty stews and pancakes. I had the pork spine potato stew and it was amazing. It had this earthy medicinal herb that added to the savory flavors. Great for colds or hangovers. Haha. The seafood pancake was on point too! It was served on a hot cast iron skillet that prevented the pancake from getting cold and wilty. What also surprised me was the portions! My stew was more than enough to share with another person. And the pancake was pretty much a 14 inch pizza. Service is pretty decent. The folks are friendly and they answer their service calls pretty fast.

After repeated visits here, driving all the way from downtown Seattle just for their food, I update to 5 stars. The service is great, the place is clean and the food is always great. I wish them many years of continued business.

FINALLY A PLACE WITH AMAZING MUL NENG MYUN!!! aka cold noodles. It's been a long and disappointing search for a place that has the best broth and noodles and this is it. The first requirement is that the broth takes beefy. Check. The noodles are a good consistency. The side dishes? Good. I went with my mom and usually I can't finish a whole bowl of noodles by myself but I was able to. Got the cold noodles in broth w/ kalib and my mom got the spicy mixed noodles. Both great. We split everything. With the spicy noodles it comes with a cup of hot beef broth by itself and from there you can judge how good this place is. It was awesome. Now I know exactly where to go during the summer for a nice bowl of cold noodles. Yay!

Was in the area and decided to come back here. We didn't get the BBQ this time and just order regular entrees. Everything came out good and delicious, it also helped that we were very hungry at the time. Seafood pancake was nice and crispy, pork neck soup was hearty but I thought the pork neck needs to be cook longer because some parts were still a bit chewy. My favorite was the ban chan, all were very good. Service again was not the best but as long as they're not rude then I'm fine with it.

Korean BBQ is pretty good. Service was also good. I have to knock off 2 stars because of the inefficient way that they handle incoming customers. I walked in to find a waiting room of random groups of people sitting and standing around. I didn't see a clipboard or anything for names nor was there a hostess of sorts. I tracked down a lady at the cash register and had a conversation along the lines of: Me: Is there a paper or something where I can write down my name for a table? Her: No, we don't have anything like that Me: I need a table for 6 but how do you know what order to give out tables? Her: All tables are full now anyway so as people leave we'll give you a table depending on if you are going to BBQ or not BBQ. Me: Ok that's fine and I'll take whatever kind of table comes up first but again, how do you know the order of when people have been waiting for tables? Her: Our tables are all full so it doesn't matter anyway (boggles my mind a bit)... Another guy came around about 10 minutes later and I told him that I need a table for 6 as well. Eventually, tables freed up a bit, between the guy and cooperation of the customers, it was more or less orderly....until our turn of course. At that point, there were only a few groups left and really it was only us and one other group that had been there for awhile now...a lady (yet another lady) came and asked the other group "who was here first...you guys or the other folks (my group)?" and the group was all confused, looked at each other, and said "we were here first." i yelled over "no, we were here first" (because we were) and then the guy heard some of the commotion, came over and said "they (me) were here first" and we got our table. Seems like an easy solution would be to put a clipboard and pen near the front and have people write their name down. Once we were seated, the food was fine, prices were reasonable, and even the service (the original lady that I spoke to served us) was good. The only miss on the food was the fish that we ordered (ka ja me goo-ee) which was dry and terrible. We got the combination of marinated beef and it feeds 4-5. We were full at the end...we were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids. I'll try to unmarinated next time.

We go here all the time as it's very convenient, we love the food and its family friendly! The staff are always very happy and interact with our children which makes the children love going there too! Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and want a nice meal with the family.

Food is good, but horrible service. I had party of 5 so we were asking for refills on side dishes, after the first time, the server gave a horrible face and never came again. We had to ask them to come for some water and some rice which they gave an even horribler face. At the end we ask for the check and they said to go to the front and pay. The bill came out a lot more then expected so we ask for the breakdown, and the waitress said 15% tip was included! It was a party of 5! Anyway, they probably add the tip themselves cuz they were horrible to us. Never coming back.

A little pricey but its got a wide variety of tasty items. Seafood pancake all the way.
(4)Will T.
This place is always packed with Koreans so you know it's good. The combo dinners are bigger than they seem. "Feeds 2-3" really feeds 3-4.

Federal Way, known for its Korean restaurants, should be proud to have So Moon Nan Jib (SMNJ). This location used to be occupied by Tobang, a Korean restaurant that was more of a 3.5 star place. With over half a dozen visits to this new bad boy, I proclaim SMNJ as the number one (#1) Korean restaurant in the Seattle Metro area. Here is what I can tell you as a Cliff Notes guide. You've basically have two options when you arrive: Korean Style Grill or order a la carte. Korean Style Grill: Combos: There are various combinations you can order that gives more than enough food to feed your bellies. The meats and sides (ban chan) that accompany these combos are of higher than average quality. I am usually not a big fan of steamed eggs (anywhere) or the bean paste soups but they do decent job and they come with your combo meal. Salad, rice, raw spicy crab* and other ban chan like fish cake, veggie pancake, Dotorimuk (acorn jelly), and kimchi add a ton of value. A la carte: Half a page of different soups are available. My favorites are the Pork Neck Bone, Short Rib and the Black Goat soups: The Pork Neck Bone soup (Gam Ja Thang) is hearty and is much like eating tender, fall-off-the-bone oxtail, and for $10 only you get a much bang for your buck! Short Rib soup is tasty and comes with the clear, potato noodles. The Black Goat Soup is true to Korean tradition and has all the spicy flavors I expect. The Beef intestine soup is good also but I pick Gam Ja Thang at my #1 go-to favorite for soups. Keep in mind that there are the smaller, cheaper versions for $10-14 and large hot pot versions that are about the $30 range if you are feeding 4 or more. This is only the tip of the iceberg, my friend. You can just order BBQ by itself from a wide array of meat choices, get bibimbop, the killer dumplings, or even the perfect grilled mackerel!! Service itself varies (usually based on how busy they are); what I say is if you are looking for first class service, go to the Ritz Carlton. If you are looking for good Korean food served with a smile, get your keisters down south to Fed Way and get your stomachs ready for max satisfaction. _______________________ *raw spicy crab comes with certain combos and may or may not be your favorite. It is considered an acquired taste with its mushy meat texture.

This place had such great reviews that I was expecting a lot! What I got was an ok meal. We started sharing the seafood pancake appetizer which was huge! This could be an entree alone. This was pretty tasty. For my entree, I ordered the cod hot and spicy soup. It was too fishy when I tasted it. I wasn't too into it but I took it home. When I had it the next day (heated properly in a pot over the stove), it was even fishier! It didn't taste fresh and gave me a stomachache. I went to bed feeling ill but luckily, I was ok in the morning. I wouldn't be opposed to trying this spot again but I won't be ordering the cod soup again.

My first time at a Korean restaurant and this place has got it going on. Everything was delicious! I didn't have control of what was ordered, but my boss (who is Korean) knew what to order, which was a plus for being my first time. It was her first time at this restaurant, since it's new, and she really liked it. The servers and everyone working there was really attentive and friendly and kept coming back to ask if we wanted any more side dishes and if we were okay. Definitely will come here again!!!

This place ruined it...ruined as in I cannot go to ANY Korean place EVER again outside of Federal Way (well, besides Korea)! So my visit to So Moon Nan Jib (means "popular house" in Korean---I know, my Korean is awesome #lotsofkoreanchingu) was actually my first time to Federal Way. And from what I've heard that it's kind of ghetto and run down with the strip malls and a place where you might get shot if you loiter there for too long...well that's ALL true. But my review will be on the restaurant and not so much the neighborhood or the little Korean town. Where do I begin? Well, I'm a big fan of banchan (side dishes), and there are times where I feel I can just eat the banchan and be satisfied with that. No, I'm not a basic bitch that gets satisfied easily---I just really like the idea of banchan that's not so prominent in other Asian cuisines. Well what about this place's banchan? Magnificent. It was fresh for one thing. Second, the portions are pretty decent. Third, AWESOME variety. First time I've been to a Korean BBQ place in WA state and I see this kelp-looking banchan that has this red chili sauce drenched over it. It was AMAZING (no, I will not say 'amazeballs'). So we got some sirloin steak to start. When the meat came, I was impressed. Why? Because the meat actually LOOKS LIKE steak!!! It looked fresh and had a balanced amount of fat on it. With the grill at your table, they bring over some garlic in a tin foil box so that you can enjoy some cooked garlic with your meat. In addition, there were some mushrooms if you are feeling a little fungus-y. We also got the Gam Ja Thang, which is pork bone and potato soup. I think this was the first time I had it. Thoughts? SO FLAVORFUL! This dish puts the other Korean restaurants in downtown Seattle and Chinatown to SHAME!!! There was a huge ass amount of pork neck too. It's like the owners just slaughtered a pig from outback to give us. It left me speechless. Finally, we got some nengmyun, which is the cold noodles with tangy broth. This is the first time I had this in the states. Last time I had it I was in Seoul. The fact that So Moon Nan Jib has nengmyun just shows you how authentic it is. These noodles were amazing, and the tanginess flavor was like no other, but it was well controlled and not too overwhelming. It was nicely cold too (and I mean cold as in almost freezing), and I do hear that with nengmyun it is sometimes made by mixing with ice and/or placing it in the freezer for a little bit. As my Korean chingu suggested, the cold noodles are good eating with BBQ meat. After I tried doing that, I pretty much became Korean #koreanstatus. At the very end we were given this rice dessert tea, which like the Gam Ja Thang, is the first time I have had it. The dessert is prepared warm, and before you drink it you swirl it a little bit to mix with the rice on the bottom. Like most Asian desserts, it was sweet but not diabetic sweet. Perfecto. Our bill ended up being around $30/person with tax AND tip. Granted, we ate too much, but I did not regret any moment of my glutton tendencies that day. The servers and owner were really kind to us, and that is one of the reasons why I want to go back there again to try their other dishes. I saw some fried fish and spicy squid on the menu, so I'll be all over that next time. The drive from downtown Seattle is definitely worth it. And like I said, now I cannot go to any Korean food place outside of Federal Way. Nope. Never. I have become a total Korean food snob SOLELY because of this amazing gem. And if you don't like this place after trying it, there is something wrong with you. Just make sure you don't tell me that because I WILL judge you. The end.

Checked out this place based on the almost perfect reviews and was quite surprised it wasn't packed on a Saturday night - and it should be. Quickly scrolled through what other Yelpers recommended and went with the pork neck bone & potato soup, spicy rice cake with fish cake, steamed dumplings, and went with the family set A. In total with tip it came up to around $100 for 4 people and we had more than enough food. The pork neck bone soup was incredibly delicious, and comes topped with what I believe are mustard seeds. The broth is a little spicy, but just a right amount of heat. They place it over the stove and once it boils, you can start slurping it up. It's quite a big pot and will serve 4 people easily. BUT, since we were here, might as well go all out and try the set menu. It came with flounder, soy bean paste soup, egg, raw crab, beef, and stir fried squid. Couple this with the side dishes and the table was filled with dishes. The waitress thought we weren't gonna finish the food and she was so wrong. IF she only knew how much we can eat... Everything was excellent ****** Except the raw spicy crab. It certainly is a little odd with a mushy and fishy texture and no one at our table liked it very much. On hindsight, should've asked if we could substitute that for something else... All in all, a very enjoyable and well priced meal. While the service was a little lacking, didn't fill our tea until we asked, I would still consider this restaurant one of the best Korean restaurants in WA. 5/5 would come again with an army next time.

If you want nengmyun and need something that's as close to homemade as you can get, this is the place to be. Service is phenomenal and they give you loads of bahnchan (aka side dishes). I've tried the mool nengmyun which is incredibly refreshing and the broth is pretty good as it is. Throw in some vinegar and spicy mustard (I love the feeling of it clearing your sinuses so I use a lot) and you're golden. The bibimnengmyun (beef), hweh nengmyun (fish), and the sekkimi nengmyun (beef+fish making it my favorite) are all bomb. The sauce is a perfect level of sweetness and spice. This is the go-to for nengmyun in this area. I've also tried the gamjatang (pork bone/potato soup) which is also an incredibly flavorful and perfectly spiced broth. They give you an extremely generous portion of meat as well making this the best bang for your buck. Have not tried the Korean BBQ portion of the menu but it always smells like it here and it smells incredible.

Loved loved loved this place!!! All around great service, food, everything. Generous portions. Authentic Korean. This is definitely a place we will come back to when in the area.
(5)Pearl W.
Hubby bought me here because I was craving neng myun. We ordered neng myun (), spicy pork () and spicy tofu stew (). The neng myun was cool and refreshing. The pork was good but I wish it was more spicy. I wasn't into the soon tofu stew though :( One thing I really like is that they have really good side dishes. Next time I come here, I'm gonna do BBQ!

So Moon Nan Jib took me by surprise since I had almost lost faith in all Korean BBQ restaurants in Federal Way. My dad took me here for an early birthday dinner. It is a newer Korean BBQ place and so people have been curious to try it. The other places I've been to in Federal Way have lost their spark for me so stumbling inside here I wasn't sure what to expect. The place is bright and decently clean. We were seated right away and handed menus. My dad decided to go with one of the combos that serve 3-4 people. It comes with a platter of various kinds of meat. Our banchan (side dishes) came with the bowl of shredded lettuce in it's vinaigrette. After taking a few mouthfuls of the banchan and the salad I knew that this place hinted at higher quality than others. I soon began to have a peaked interest in what the meat would be like. The banchan was nicely plated, and came with unique things. I've never seen seaweed in the red sauce you dip raw fish in. The platter was big and it came with sogogi (beef pieces), marinated kalbi, some spicy pork, bulgogi, marinated chicken and pork chops. When I say pork chops I mean real pork chops. There are two big slabs of pork just waiting to be grilled. I also like how they put the garlic in a small aluminum dish with sesame oil. It gave the garlic a nice roast and lovely flavor. The sogogi was actually really good. Typically I don't like this cut of meat at all but this was juicy, succulent and almost melted in my mouth. I'm not a huge fan of pork chops so I didn't like that one as much. However, my brother, a huge pork lover, said they tasted pretty good. There wasn't that much kalbi on the platter unfortunately. Kalbi is one of my favorite meats and this place marinated it well. It was so soft and packed with flavor. The bulgogi wasn't anyone's favorite. I feel like we've tasted better bulgogi elsewhere. I've never had chicken before so this was an interesting twist. The chicken was moist and juicy which I enjoyed. The marinade wasn't as prominent but the chicken still tasted good. By the time we got to the spicy pork I was quite full so I only got to try a little bit. It also tasted above average so I was pretty pleased. During the meal they bring your your typical bean paste soup and also steamed egg. I've seen the steamed egg done better at other places and have seen more of it in the stone pot. I felt like they skimped out on the egg here. There seems to be a lot of customers but not enough waitresses/waiters. We had to press the button on the side of the table quite a few times to grab their attention. You have to ask them for rice if you want because they don't just bring it out. We asked for ice water and were given hot tea so that was a downside. However, a different waitress overheard us talking about ice water and brought us some. They did come to check up on us a few times and see if we needed our pan changed so service wasn't as horrible as it could have been. They were generous about giving us to-go boxes and even gave us some aluminum foil for the leftover meat. The total for the combo was a little less than $80 before tip. The price seemed pretty fair for the amount food and the quality. It looks like this is my favorite spot for Korean BBQ in Federal Way as of present.
(4)Nathan M.
TL;DR version: Service was crap and the "meat" was 30% fat. I pointed to the drink menu of a single serving of rice wine and the guy brought us each a shot glass and a 4 person bottle of wine. After I corrected him and he came back with a single serving I didn't see him again for the rest of the meal. Am I supposed to go and order from the cash register for each additional beverage? Our water glasses ran dry. What the hell, dude? I've never experienced service so bad. Most of the meal was good, but my plate (I forget what it was called) was pork cut into slices, and a good portion of the slices were 100% fat. My stomach can't handle that, so I ended up picking through it all like chicken wings, leaving a pile of fat behind the size of my fist. Is that traditional? Who eats that garbage? I'll never be back unless somebody else insists and pays for my meal, and it will take a significant effort on the part of the ownership to change my mind. This place is a joke.
(1)Israel M.
Damn good korean BBQ...tough to find since it's buried in a little strip mall with a bunch of other Korean businesses. You'll know it's pretty authentic considering every person in the place was Korean. Service is definitely not warm and fuzzy but they get the job done. The meat was awesome - nice fresh cuts and their marinate is quite tasty. One thing I really like about korean food is all the appetizers you get with your meal. You really gotta pace yourself when you eat. :) I'll be back again to try some of their other dishes, the spicy bean paste soup looked off the hook. Looking forward to my next visit.
(4)Holly V.
I really like this place. If you want Korean food this is the place to go if your in the area. You can choose between Korean BBQ, soups, noodles and all the other choices of food they have.
(5)Joanthonette L.
Food are delicious. Service is fast and friendly. Side dishes are yummy portions are good size. Prices are comparable. Will definitely be coming back!
(5)Linda H.
Totally disappointed w/ the food and service. There were alot of great reviews so I must have came on a off day. I had the nangmyun and the noodles were really long and very chewy. I could feel myself gagging. I will have to come try the BBQ but will not be ordering the cold noodle here again. Our server forgot about us so we never received refills on our drinks.
(2)Kimberly C.
The service here is great! Food is awesome and pricing is really good. Get the galbee tang, bibimnaemmyun, bibimbop and the soon dubu soup!
(5)Patrick C.
Not too bad and probably one of the better Korean BBQ places in Federal Way. Pretty friendly staff and came to our table often. The only thing keeping me from giving them a 5 rating is that at the end, I didn't realize that the check was paid up front and I wished they would have come over one last time to see if we needed anything else, such as a box. Although the Korean BBQ was pretty good, the side dishes could have been a little better.
(4)Joe H.
My new favorite Korean restaurant in WA. I will be back for their meat combos. During my last visit, our family (2 hungry adults and 2 starving kids) ordered their "Jung Sik" which is... like a combination of variety of dishes with rice. It was $39 and it's supposed to feed 2-3 people. Well, what we got was more like... it could have served 4-5 not too hungry grown-ups or 2 hungry adults and 2 starving kids - so it was perfect! This 40 dollars combo came with the following (RIDICULOUS in a GOOD way!): - Squid mixed with veggies in spicy sauce - Pan-fried fish (not sure what this fish is call in English - but it's huge) - BBQ Pork - Raw crabs in spicy sauce - Bean paste soup with tofu and pork in it - Egg dish Plus 5 or 6 other "ban chan" dishes which are small plates that come with rice. Crazy value if you ask me. The portions on each dish weren't small either. Taste was very very good too. My wife thought the bean paste soup here was the best she had in WA. I also thought the raw crabs here were better than Sam Oh Jung. Service was great and it was very busy for dinner on Monday night (Labor day though). Credit cards are accepted and there is free parking (private lot) in front of the restaurant.
(5)Keith W.
I mean, the food is good here. But definitely not for the BBQ, there are a lot more better place out there in federal way for BBQ. Price/quality not that great but yeah, solid 3 stars.
(3)Jennifer S.
We had high expectations coming here. We found good and bad. The good is they have a great combination offering-we got the combo A which came with a bbq dish, soy bean soup, mackeral, spicy squid, steamed egg and my favorite spicy crab-so you're able to get a wide variety of dishes for $39.95 (they say it feeds 2-3 people, but it probably feeds 3 solid). We also ordered the soon tofu soup and pah chun pancake. Although the pah chun pancake was good, crisp on the outside and nicely cooked through on the inside, the soon tofu soup and panchan had a lot of MSG. I love spicy crab so it was nice to eat it here. I would come back here and order the combo again, but I would ask them about the amount of MSG used in certain dishes. We experienced friendly, courteous service. The decor inside is not fancy or nice by any means, so don't expect much from that.

Great service and food! We had the tofu soup and seafood pancake. We'll be back.
(5)Jakie S.
We went there again yesterday, and ordered 2 marinated kalbi which was grilled at your table. Delicious! It's going to cost you about $70 total. That'll feed 2 adults and a child.

Koreans apparently love this place. I do not. I've been eating Korean food for 17 years. I have been to Korea many times and have had some of the best Korean food. This place does not compare. The sides I like are cucumber gimchi, cold potato salad, those dark potatoes and fresh white gimchi. This place had none of that. The beef. I got garlbi and the garlbi tung (beef soup). In both cases the beef was prefrozen and fatty. I don't mind a little fat around the edges, but with this beef the fat ran through the entire thing and made it hard to eat. The one thing they got going for them is the beef broth tea. Ask for it.

2 1/2 Star Not sure why all the hype, service was slow and the food was mediocre. It was busy. We entered the restaurant (party of 4) with a small group in front of us. Took about 7-10 minutes to be seated. Once seated they took a while to take our order. Not sure if was because they tucked us away in the far corner and forgot or if that is the norm.. Ordered the variety (feeds 2-3) special with flounder, BBQ pork, soup, raw crab, squid and egg soufflé. We also ordered the veggie pancake, steamed mandu and spicy rice cake. Food came out within 15 minutes. They didn't refill tea until we requested it. Flounder - no seasoning, extremely bland. I wish they had salt on the table. BBQ - my husband says the cut of meat was different. Flavor was strange. Maybe they add lemon to their marinade? Soup - way salty. I should rubbed the bean paste on the flounder. Raw crab - my mom said this was missing ginger and garlic. She loves this stuff and didn't take the leftovers home. Squid - my fav of all the dishes. Egg soufflé - bland! Veggie pancake - not the typical pancake that I'm used to having. It's was aight. Steamed mandu - this was aight Spicy rice cake - my sis and husband liked this one. I personally thought it was aight. We can say we tried it, but I don't think I'll be coming back.

If you come in hungry and don't fill up on the rice, the $39 Party A menu for 2-3 is quite doable for 2. Or maybe my hubby and I are just gluttons. At any rate, on our first jaunt here, we came on an off-hour at around 2-3pm so it was rather quiet (but that's nice!). We weren't sure whether we wanted to grill or not. Eventually, since it was our first time here and the Party A menu seemed like a great deal with diverse options, that was what we tried. The waitress was super sweet and insisted we wait until ALL the dishes were at the table to take a picture of us about to devour it all. The food was perfectly seasoned throughout, and that includes the generous amount of banchan we were served. They were also flavorful and not half-assed. My personal faves were the bean soup and the spicy pork. The raw crab was interesting and glad I tried it, but won't go out of my way to order. Hubby, who hates fried fish normally, devoured the flounder. He was quite a happy camper.

My dad supposedly said this is one of the better Korean places in Federal way but I was not impressed. Their soon doo boo (tofu) was not very good. Seemed lacking in flavor and too much MSG. 3 stars. Their galbi tang was decent 4 stars. Banchan was just ok, 3 stars. I didn't try the BBQ. Service... well don't go Korean if you're looking for great service.
(3)Jenny H.
Love it here! Went here on a Friday night and it was pretty busy but we were lucky enough to get seated right away. The service is great! We got our water/tea and menus as soon as we were seated. Side dishes came out a few minutes after we ordered and then the main food came out in a very reasonable time. The food was so good. I would say that it's one of my favorite Korean restaurants. I wouldn't mind driving all the way down to Federal Way to eat here. Yes, it's that good! (:
(5)Aimy D.
Yum yum in my tum. Came here with a large group of friends and we got some family specials to share. Everything was very delicious and authentic tasting. My favorite thing we ate was the BEAN PASTE SOUP..so light, rich, and flavorful! The raw crab was good but pretty hard to eat. The only downside was that even though the family specials can serve more than 2-3 people (as suggested on the menu), the restaurant charges you an extra $5 for each person that exceeds your 3 person limit on a family sharing special. They ended up telling us over and over and over again that we would be charged an extra $15 bc of our large party. To make the charge worth it we bought $15 extra in dumplings and a meat platter. Is this really a restaurant policy or are they trying to charge the hell out of us?
(4)Megan M.
I'm not Korean but I know some Koreans and make kimchi so feel this is credible review. :) I love Korean food! This is the real deal. Delicious food! Interesting small dishes and nice servers. This place is nothing fancy but to compete in a strip mall with at least two other places, you have to be good. Lots of ventilation if you go for BBQ but lots of other dishes as well. Try the octopus special dish and spicy pork for sure.
(4)Cindy L.
Horrible service a waitresses spilt water on me and all over the table and never apologized for it. The waitresses never brought out utensils even when the food was delivered to our table. Whenever we asked them for a simple request the waitresses was so lazy and acted like she didn't want to work and kept giving us attitude like she did not want to serve us. Oh and did I mention she blamed me when she spilt the water on me because I was on my phone. Like okay ma'am you're right. Food was good like always but the one waitress with the orange apron was a bitch and if it wasn't for her my experience would have been 10x better.
(2)Rini Y.
The food is pretty good but I'm giving 2 stars because customer service is really important for me. The owner's brother is a tall man and on the off chance you encounter him, you'll find his presence to negatively impact your meal experience. From unfriendly greetings, to half refills of hot water, to tossing banchan refills (yes, I said TOSSING) on the table, the guy is rude and should not be working there. I feel this place deserves a better review because the food is great. I love their family set A, which is reasonably priced, and the banchan (when it's not being tossed on your table) is delicious and fresh. I ordered the cabbage and beef soup a couple times and found the taste to be comforting and refreshing. Seriously, the food is really good and maybe I'll be back. But if that guy is there and delivers the same type of service again, I will tell him he sucks, leave no tip, and never come back again. Good food is only part of a meal experience... Service is the rest.

The food here was amazing. We came in a giant group of 14 peoples, so they put us in their back room. It easily seated all of us and the hostess was amazing. They were hard to accommodate a large group on last minute and did an amazing job checking on us to make sure we were still alright. It took us 15 minutes to decide on what we were having for dinner, and the food started rolling in a few minutes later. But 15 minutes after our order was given to the hostess, we had all our foods. We had a pretty large order totaling almost 21 dishes, and each dish was amazing. The sides were great and she kept coming back to refill them for us. Even on a busy night when the restaurant was pack, their customer service was top notch and the food was awesome. I'm and fan and would be back again.
(5)Stephen R.
Legit. Order some meat and some beers, go with some friends, and order something off the menu you can't pronounce. Enjoy.
(4)Arthur K.
After a change in ownership, this place opened again in April. We came here for some Korean BBQ & ended with the nengmyun. The quality of the meat here is very good and the meat all had great marbling. After the meat, we got the nengmyun (water & spicy) and both were very tasty. It was a perfect end to a very good Korean meal. This place already has quite a big Korean crowd at nights so you know they're doing something right.
(5)Joon K.
I have come here several times since its opening and this is probably my go-to nengmyun place in Federal Way (not many other places to choose from...). This restaurant can get pretty crowded, particularly during the summer months when everyone else wants nengmyun, but the service is usually pretty friendly and quick. The servers are nice and are always willing to refill banchan. Came here with a few friends and order the nengmyun and galbi combo. The nengmyun is pretty good with a tasty refreshing broth. The broth has a slight beef flavor, not too salty or sweet. Not the best broth I have had, but still pretty good and probably the best in Federal Way. The noodles were cooked well too with a good chew to them. The galbi was marinated very well and cooked perfectly. You get about 5-6 pieces so the combo can be a little pricey for what you get (~$17). I have to mention that this place serves one of the better gamjatangs in the area as well. Great sesame flavor with lots of meat. If you want something warm, this is a dish you should definitely try out!
(4)Lisa U.
Quality meat, quality service, and huge portions. We had leftover pork belly, and the woman helping us offered to have the cooks in the back cook it for us so we could have it as takeout! My favorite spot for KBBQ.
(5)Tiffany M.
Great service, very busy place. The food was great a concentration of authentic korean soups and other items. The seafood pancake was pretty big for 2 people.
(5)Tina Y.
My friend told me to check out here for their nangmyun after telling me that the chef is apparently new and is from LA Ktown? And apparently they do their own broth and noodles instead of store bought kinds in other korean restaurants. The verdict? Pretty good nangmyun! Was it 4 stars? Not really. But I want to give the extra star for the friendly service. When we went it was around dinner time so it was pretty busy. I feel like Koreans have a tendency to be sort of rude or careless towards younger customers considering that everyone who works in these restaurant biz are much older. But the staff here was super friendly, they refilled our banchans multiple times, and even gave us soo-jung-guah which is a traditional korean drink as a part of dessert after the meal. BUT what about the nangmyun you ask?? The broth was standard, not as sour and not too sweet which I appreciated. The noodles were awesome! It wasn't too soft, not too hard, just the right amount of chew. Yummy TLDR: Definitely come here for nangmyun in federal way! Friendly staff, and honestly I just haven't seen any other place do nangmyun correctly. So come here if you're desperate for some cold noodles in the summer.
(3)Sharmaine Q.
Very delicious menus they have no doubt and its good for group people. Friendly employees and you feel the Korea place because mostly Korean customer when there. It's my first time to visit and I said nice place. Now, I want to go back there again.
(5)Shirley K.
Wow! This is probably my favorite Korean BBQ place in Federal Way! It has had a lot of different owners and never was that great but the new owners are doing a great job! The meat is great and they have a good variety of side dishes. Their steamed eggs and daengjang chigae (soybean paste soup, the brown one with tofu) are really good too! I come here for their cold noodles on hot days and they just hit the spot! Unlike Shin Sung, they're much cleaner and have more tables so you don't have to wait as long. This place has become really busy after the change in ownership so I'm not the only one that likes this place!they also have very good service! If you're ever in the area, I recommend coming here.
(5)Sabrina Kayoung K.
Such a great food with great amount! I'm a general customer of this restaurant , and love their bibimbap and some other soups also! It's a bit sad that they stop their machine for cold noodle after 9pm, but it's still good to be here. The food quality is way better than any other places aroud here !
(5)Cc H.
This is hands down the best Korean food I have had in Washington. Everything we have tried has been awesome including their spicy raw crab which is legit. My family of four usually orders their jung shik which is a small amount of six or seven types of main dishes on top of the ban chan they give. We always end up with left overs and every dish is gooood. Highly recommend if you are around Federal Way!
(5)Korvyn T.
Great Food. The best kimchi I have tasted! Their BBQ is excellent, albeit a little overpriced $75 for 3 people. I wish I could say the same for the service. The waitress was downright rude. This is being paraphrased out of Korean but she told a friend "If you are going to make a reservation make sure your entire party is here at the time you scheduled." I was taken aback since some of our friends had issues getting there because of an accident on I-5. The same waitress seemed put out that we asked for more rice and extra banchan. The service was extremely slow. I may go back to get something else, but I may skip the BBQ. Since the food was that good. Maybe I will avoid the waitress that "helped" us.
(2)Sonya P.
We got the seafood and green onion pancake and kimchi bibimbap. It was delicious and quick! The food was flavorful and filling. The service was ok as are most Asian places. We had to ask for to go boxes and had to pay upfront. Overall, I recommend it!
(4)Don P.
Absolutely the best Korean food I have ever had in the PNW! :) You will not be disappointed!!!:) I have never had a bad experience with the service. I have nothing but great service here.:) They remember who we are and are always very pleasant!!! In my opinion they do a FANTASTIC job!
(5)Chi N.
Three words: spicy raw crab. You're out of your mind if you don't think this is amazing. Definitely coming back for this. Love the ahjummas that work here. Family style dining at its best.
(5)Michael C.
This place is a gem hidden amongst a dozen other Asian businesses in kind of strange plaza. Had the stone pot and udon. Ridiculously good. The sides are better than most Korean restaurants I've tried, even those in Korea. The staff is very busy but still attentive as the place is packed during lunch hour.
(5)Siling L.
Find this restaurent on yelp. Generally we always go to bugol bugol, but when I tried here, i totally changed my mind! Meals are so delicious!
(5)Tin P.
To be honest, this is probably one of the best Korean restaurants I have tried on Pacific Hwy. I have been a regular at So Moon Nan Jib for lunch. The lunch special is very well-priced, and a great deal for such an amazing Korean lunch. You know what so special about Korean food, you get to try their wold-class appetizer. So Moon Nan Jib gives you varieties of appetizers to try. Among them, my favorite is the Korean pan cake. I feel bad for asking for them again and again, but I cannot stop. It is just so good. I can guarantee that any Korean dishes you get at So Moon Nan Jib, you will not be disappointed. Well, as of writing this review, I realized that I have not yet tried their Korean BBQ.... Hm... Gotta come back next time... But go ahead and get the spicy squid for now. It is tasty.
(4)Kristinn C.
So so so good! I can't say anything that anybody on here hasn't already said. Every single thing I tried including all the banchan was delicious and perfectly cooked/presented. I will definitely be back.
(5)Danielle L.
I am not one to easily give a 5 star rating. I'm not a Korean food expert. But I have been to almost every Korean BBQ place in Federal Way and this one always gets my repeat business. The first time I went we too were charged the mandatory 15% gratuity, but it has not happened since. I love the bibimbap and the rest of my family love the $89.00 bbq plate. There was 8 of us and we all got full. very full. They are not at all stingy with the side dishes. I believe that they are called panchan. (But could be wrong) the bibimbap is lovely! Just make sure you tell the waitress if you like the rice crispy and she will make sure your bowl gets enough time on the fire. I love it when they come help with the cooking. with all of our kids it is such a blessing to have them help with the fire. This is so much better than the rest in town. especially the one next to the old Top Foods and Wally World. I see there are some negative reviews here but all I can say is that sometimes the service is not consistent especially if the place is super busy. But just let them know what you need and try to know what you want off the menu. Its hard to ask questions if your waitress is not real fluent in english-speaking. And of course being kind and courteous goes a long way.
(5)Donna H.
This was a great find for a last minute search here. Walked in and got a table right away to grill food. We were asked to move to accomodate a bigger party and we didn't mind. Before our friends arrived we ordered the seafood green onion pancake. All our food came almost at once and was overwelmed but showed me service was fast and prompt which was always great. We received our salad then banchan, pancake and meats to grill. For the four of us we chose the marinated $69.98 combo which was more than enough food. We got two tofu stews In addition. One earlier reviewer said their kimchi is good and I have to agree it was one of the best I have had and I don't usually like kimchi at all. From the grilled meats I think the chicken was my favorite next to the beef and spicy pork. The other meats didn't have as much flavor to them. Will have my favorites to order next time I visit.
(4)Diem T.
It was good. The food was tasty and the place was clean. The people were really nice as well! I saw a lot of Koreans hang out there. I guess it's a good place to eat and talk.
(4)LedaandJonathan D.
Okay so my Korean mother gave it an 8 rating out of 10, which is pretty good. I, however, discovered something: I don't like to cook. So what do I know about bbq'ing my own meat on a little grill? Nothing. The meat seemed fresh and tender, and I really enjoyed the ban chan. Next time I'm going to order off the menu something that they cook in the kitchen and bring out prepared and appropriately seasoned instead of relying on my own untrained bbq skills. The service was interesting. Our first server was less than friendly and didn't bring the rice we asked for, but a younger gal took over and she was fabulous- very attentive, helpful and sweet. So overall a good experience!! I'd definitely come back. And ps. it's a pretty good sign when the restaurant is packed with Koreans.
(4)Amy E.
First and foremost, we could really taste the quality of the meat here. We ordered the beef tongue and short ribs. My first bite I was astonished by how juicy and beefy the meat taste. I also like how they give you a decent amount of salad rather then a large bowl. We can never finish the salad and I always feel bad for wasting. The side dishes taste like they are seasoned well and handled with care. The menu included a lot of Korean dishes that I have not seen at most Korean restaurants. This is not an all you can eat BBQ restaurant. Korean bbq can be quite pricy especially when you order a la carte, but i think if the food is higher in quality, it is well worth the price. If you are looking for quality over quantity, this place is for you. We will return!
(5)Hamy N.
Food is delish and fresh. Great great service!!! We asked for lettuce and even though they don't offer it due to the cost, they brought us a bunch! The side dishes were a lot compared to other korean places .
(5)Unna K.
My favorite Korean spot in town! Love A & B for my family. is yummy and service is decent.
(4)Sin T.
Pretty authentic Korean food for the Seattle area! Had the duk bok ki, seafood pancake, Korean dumpling soup and a bi bim bop. The soup was amazing! I wouldn't even know where to begin to even recreate this at home. The staff is super friendly and attentive! Small parking lot b/c it shares a lot with several other business. Will be back!
(4)Bree V.
Best Korean BBQ in Federal Way!! It was soo good! They make there own soy bean paste and you can really tell in the soy bean paste soup. Delicious! Also delicious, the spicy stir fried calamari! I got to have a few bites before my son and husband devoured it :) Definitely come and try.
(5)Michelle E.
The best Korean BBQ!!! Don't think I'll be going anywhere besides this place. Love that you don't come out smelling like food.
(5)Victor K.
Place is good. The phone number is wrong. I just updated it. The correct number is 253-815-8888
(4)Diana L.
Food is really really good... usually any restaurant u go to has things u really like, kinda like, and dont really care for. We ordered the family combo for $39.99 and we liked and cared for everything. The portions were huge and came with a great array of food. The spicy raw crab, fried flounder, bean paste soup, steamed egg, and spicy pork were on point! The side dishes taste really good and authentic. Theyre mandoo is actually homemade and filled generously with pork which your rarely find these days. For all the food we had I woukd gladly pay more. John who is the owner is really nice and personable. I would love to bring my friends here for any occation
(5)Heidi L.
I'm giving this place a four due to the time it took to bring the food but the wait is worth it. Good portions of food, the side dishes tasted and felt fresh! You gotta try this place out
(4)Unwanted H.
I go to this place once a month, favorite Korean joint to visit. Friendly staff place is always packed with Koreans which speaks for itself.
(5)Henry T.
Food was gucci tho , the waitress was such a bitch .. She had the most ugliest response when we asked for more rice and water ... At the end the had the nerves to add %15 percent tip ... And I don't understand why because the services for that much was pretty shitty .
(1)Tenille H.
THE best Bi Bim Bap in town! My husband is Korean, so we've tried all the restaurants. The Korean BBQ is always great as well when we want to splurge. Sometimes the service is lacking as they are overcrowded and understaffed, but you can tell they are trying their best. The constant influx of Koreans is a testament to the yummy food.
(5)Ivan M.
why are you so far away??? federal way on a friday night might as well be on the freakin' moon with all the traffic. but your food is so good! banchan, endless, banchan. (i know it's mostly filler usually but this place offers some pretty good options). your kbbq is so delicious...aaargh.service is so good! why you so far away???? we had rez for about 9 of us last friday for my homie's bday. he had heard about this joint from his korean homies and wanted to come get his clothes all smellin' like grilled meats for his bday. i'm not in the business of sayin' no on a brotha's bday so we schlepped our way down around 7:30 only to be informed part way down there that some of our posse was gonna be runnin' late (surprise surprise). i call the restaurant and give them a heads up and they said that would not be an issue. great! but then when i get to the restaurant, i'm informed that our posse was gonna be 12 deep now (way to rsvp, *ssholes...ahem) and we'd need more than one table. again, no problem! they sat the folks that were already at the restaurant in our original table while we waited the few min for the larger tables (that were side by side) to wrap it up. super accommodating and no shade thrown. woot. i could get used to this! we were basically just doing gogigui tonight - no soondubu, no pajeon, no jappjae, heck, no rice even. ok ok, we did get an order of the marinated raw crab which was delicious. we ordered thin sliced beef to start, followed by cubed rib eye (i think, whatever it was was pretty marbled). changed the grill and got pork belly and then added a pork neck chaser. the pork neck is not available a la carte usually, it's part of a set meal but again, the staff was supper accommodating. we drank quite a bit of soju and beer while we were waiting and the staff sent us 2 baskets of steamed mundu as service too. booyaa! all of the wait staff was friendly and relatively attentive to our super loud and obnoxious party. i'll definitely be back (when someone else is driving).
(5)Luke P.
Very good food. My bibimbap wasn't very spicy, which was too bad, but otherwise the food was very close to what I ate while working in Korea. Great appetizers and the service was good.
(4)S C.
This was my first experience ordering Korean food, and it was absolutely awesome! Everything included in the banchan was really flavorful; my favorites were the kimchi & cucumbers. I ordered the Black Goat Casserole Stew. The chili spice level was perfectly balanced in to the dish & the meat was delicious. I loved the large portions. I would recommend to this restaurant to everyone.
(5)Nic Y.
Man, oh man alive! That there was some tasty K-food. We ordered the $39 special for 2-3 people and it was awesome. Spicy beef, squid, and fried flounder were delicious. The raw crab dish had good flavor but was too adventurous for me as the soft slippery texture and she'll sucking was distracting, to be polite. The banchan assortment is killer. Service was friendly. Highly recommend!
(5)Saliha K.
Stumbled upon this place by accident, but thank god because this place is amazing! Customer service is great, nice clean restaurant and delicious food! This is going to be our go to spot for yummy Korean food.
(5)Lin S.
The only Korean BBQ that we come to after discovering this place. They give you the actual steak meat instead of thinly sliced frozen meat. Also love all the side dishes and the bean paste soup.
(5)Edward A.
Coming from San Diego, I was a little worried about finding a quality place to go for good Korean food. No more, this is my go to spot and will be where we go when my Mom (Korean) comes to visit. Portions are very generous, all the dishes were well seasoned. Definitely worth trying out!
(5)Birger S.
My son and I were the only Caucasians in an otherwise full room for most of the meal, which was DELICIOUS!
(5)Kim S.
I am Korean and sadly there aren't any good Korean restaurants IMO on the eastside (Renton, Bellevue, Renton, etc.) where I live. The best Korean restaurants are either up north in Lynnwood or down in Federal Way so we make the trek once in a while and it's always worth it. We used to always go to Kokiri and one day finally wanted to try something new and found this little hidden gem thanks to Yelp. The service has been great so far (which isn't always the case at these types of restaurants) and we love that they ask what type of rice you want (the white or the one with beans; which also isn't typically asked especially if you're not an elder). On top of that and most importantly though, the food is absolutely delicious! Not sure what they do differently because some of it looks the same as other places but it is just so good. Also love the ban chan variety and taste that is some of the best I've had as well. I have had different soups and the regular bi bim bap and the seafood stone bi bim bap is so good too. You will also notice it is usually all Koreans or older Koreans as the main customers. If we lived a bit closer, we would be here ALL the time!
(5)Nan Hee S.
had a nice quiet dinner here tonight with the hubs...we decided to try the combo A meal with the spicy soft shell crab spicy pork spicy squid dish spicy tofu soup and and deep fried flounder brown rice and many sides . YUM! we stuffed ourselves and had much food leftover...our waitress was very friendly and helpful from start to finish and the food was delivered pretty fast. the soju here for whatever reason tasted better then anywhere else i have been...smoother really liked it! hubs had a corona and some hot saki bill was just over $60 we left stuffed and happy ;{} still feel this is over all the best korean restaurant in the south sound for great authentic food and consistent fast friendly service ( besides seoul but they have a very limited menu) but have yet to try the BBQ :D
(5)Chris I.
My wife and I get Korean BBQ at least once every two weeks and thank god we found this place. The quality of the meat is always extremely good. Their tender beef is better quality than a lot of steaks I've had at nice steakhouses. Plus the service is always awesome. They act like they are actually happy to have you in their restaurant. Which is not always the case at Korean places. Plus all the little side dishes are great and since we go there so often it's nice that they frequently change them up (and explain to us what they are. We're both gringos). In short best Korean BBQ we've ever been to.
(5)Meghan C.
Got the bimbapz. It was everything I expected it to be. The prices are reasonable and the service was good. Cute and comfortable interior. Going back tonight weeee.
(5)Ann N.
All I can say is, wow! My husband and I really enjoyed this place. We ordered the special combo and it was delicious! We will be back for their BBQ soon.
(5)April A.
Amazing spot! Good meat! We got a combo and couldn't finish all the meat we cooked so we got a box to go. Good service too.
(5)Esther M.
We had lunch here after reading the reviews. Was a bit doubtful if I could trust yelp reviews for Korean food since I am Korean(just different standard because I grew up with it)... Obvious from the five stars I gave this restaurant, I enjoyed this place very much, more than any other restaurant in federal way. In fact, I could only remember one other restaurant in Washington that I enjoyed just as much. The rating is completely based on the food. I have long stopped expecting any real ambiance from good Asian restaurants. This restaurant had very nice ladies that served us and it was very neat and clean. We ordered draft tofu soup and bulgogi stew. It came with 7 or 8 side dishes. Every single bite was great. You can see and taste the care they took with every little side dish. That is what separates a great Korean restaurant from a mediocre one. Treating the smallest detail of food preparation with care, seasoned with great balance of hot, sour, sweet, and salty. Most other Korean restaurant treat side dishes haphazardly, as a second thought. Not this restaurant.
(5)Stacy M.
Found this place via yelp when traffic was backed up on 18 and I-5. Pulling into the seedy strip mall we were skeptical and almost didn't go in. BUT yelp has never let us down. The service was great. We are probably the first patrons to not know one word of Korean but our waiter was patient and guided us. We ordered the Korean BBQ for 2 at $49.99. He talked us out of appetizers saying we would probably have enough food. Then came a salad, and about 6 or 7 side dishes of vegetables and dipping sauces. Then a huge platter of meat-beef, pork, chicken which was cooked on a grill in the center of our table. There was also a spicy soup, and an egg soufle type dish, a bowl of rice hot tea and a cold punch included. All the food was tasty. We had enough food for 1- 2 more people. It was quite the culinary adventure! Great food, great service, good price for LARGE quantity of food. (but not five stars due to seedy strip mall, fake windows, and dollar store flower decor)

good mul neng myun. hopefully they can keep it up after the usual 3 month decline in quality after opening. (korean restaurants tend to start well, but fade away into mediocrity) gom ja tang was good too.

best korean bbq restaurant ever! The meat is very good quality and side dishes so far best compared to other bbq places near by. Its not all you can eat but its reasonable price. $14-29 per meat plate. give you free lettuce for wrap w/ shredded green onions. Fermented bean paste soup is season perfect. Customer service is excellent..they do the grilling for you n free of charge for more side dish. Interior is very clean n booth is spacious up to 6 people seating. When you enter you might not see many customers because they grand open in may with new owner. But trust me and give this place a try.
